We were asked to provide a future-proof, modern phone system for the Raukawa Charitable Trust. Find out more about the solutions we provided, and how we might be able to help your business.
Raukawa Charitable Trust (raukawa.org.nz) are the charitable arm of the Raukawa Group, which represents the Raukawa iwi of the South Waikato. They provide a range of services within the rohe, including but not limited to:
Raukawa are a large organisation with over 100 staff – operating five offices around the South Waikato area – the main one being their Tokoroa office.
Raukawa had been operating on an on-premise 3CX phone system – this largely worked, however they wanted greater reliability (resilience around power cuts and greater call quality) and lower costs.
Furthermore, a number of their deskphones were obsolete and no longer required.
However, they needed a system that would still support the newer deskphones in their existing fleet.
JV Systems have carefully selected Access4 as our communications partner for unified communications.
Conversations with Raukawa confirmed that the best option was Access4’s UC Xpress offering.
UC Xpress offers the following advantages:
We engaged with Raukawa’s corporate services team over several months to further develop our solution.
Once we received approval for the project, we worked out a detailed plan including a new proposed phone extension scheme to better reflect Raukawa’s corporate structure.
After this, we coordinated with Raukawa to determine the number of deskphones still required and the number of available compatible phones. We also arranged to port the existing phone numbers from the existing carrier to the Access4 backbone.
Within a month, we had all the pieces in place to roll out the new system. Our team of technicians travelled to all five Raukawa offices to deploy the new phone system and provide staff training where required, as well as follow-up training sessions the following week.
We also provided training videos available to all Raukawa staff on how to use the new system.
Raukawa staff have reported increased call quality and reliability with the new phone system (less dropped calls, and clients unable to hear kaimahi).
In addition, Raukawa management now have better insight into call reporting and use of Raukawa’s multiple tollfree lines via the advanced SaSBoSS platform provided by Access4.
We continue to work with Raukawa to further refine their phone system to suit their evolving business needs.
